Dunfanaghy Village is just a couple of miles around the coast The village and surrounding area of Sheepahaven Bay is very popular with our visitors who return each year to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. The village has now a well established Festival programme which begins on St. Patricks Day with a parade led by the local Marching Bands with colourful floats and children in fancy dress. Entertainment follows with the Anvil Ceili Band providing traditional Ceili Dancing Music in the square for the set dances which is enjoyed by all who take part.

A Busking Competition is also part of the fun as well as local crafts, and the country market produce. Live Music with traditional sessions in the local bars rounds off a most enjoyable day for all the family. The Workhouse first opened in 1845 on the eve of the Great Famine houses an exhibition of the life and times of the famine victims who perished during the famine years. It also has an excellent craft shop and tea room. Next door to the workhouse The Gallery/Craft Shop, originally the Fever Hospital, has a fine collection of paintings by the famous Watercolour Artist Mr. Frank Eggington as well as a wide range of Irish Crafts. In the village we have a number of fine shops. The Tweed/Fashion and Craft Shop has quality Irish fashion and crafts as well as jewellery and pottery. Muck and Muffins/Pottery/Tea Rooms - Here you can experience the production of unusual hand made Dunfanaghy pottery produced on site.
